So the other disciples told him, \u2018We have seen the Lord!\u2019 But he said to them, \u2018Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.\u201d~John 20:24-25<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, \u2018Peace be with you!\u2019 Then he said to Thomas, \u2018Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side.\u00a0 Stop doubting and believe.\u2019 Thomas said to him, \u2018My Lord and my God!\u2019 Then Jesus told him, \u201cBecause you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.\u201d ~John 20:26-29<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.\u201d Thomas said to him, \u2018Lord, we don\u2019t know where you are going, so how can we know the way? Jesus answered, \u2018I am the way and the truth and the life. Scripture References<\/a><div id='bg-showmore-hidden-69ff2ba3b16012002204689' ><\/p>\n<h3>Sermon Notes:<\/h3>\n<p><strong><u>Why do people \u2018doubt\u2019<\/u><\/strong><strong>?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Leaving is called <strong><u>deconstruction<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The failing of people vs <strong><u>Jesus<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Doubt can be a growth <strong><u>opportunity<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Sermon Scripture:<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cBut Jesus immediately said to them: \u2018Take courage! It is I. Don\u2019t be afraid.\u2019 \u2018Lord, if it\u2019s you,\u2019 Peter replied, \u2018tell me to come to you on the water.\u2019\u201d~Matthew 14:27-28<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have heard that it was said, \u2018Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.\u2019 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.\u201d ~Matthew 5:43-44<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Come,\u2019 he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. It comes from the one who sent me.\u00a0 Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.\u00a0 Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.\u2019\u201d ~John 7:16-18<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.\u00a0 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.\u00a0 And God said, \u2018Let there be light,\u2019 and there was light.\u00a0 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.\u00a0 God called the light \u201cday,\u201d and the darkness he called \u201cnight.\u201d And there was evening, and there was morning\u2014the first day.\u201d ~Genesis 1:1-5<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.\u00a0 This is what the ancients were commended for.
